Womb's Monologue

Womb's monologue.

The man paced up and down,

The corridors of the closed windows;

He did not care the sweat,

Nor did he notice-

The old folk hunched,

Tight lipped, with quivering mouths and bitten nails,

Anticipating what seemed like doomsday;

For what seemed like eternity.

The man of the white cloth,

Clean and emotionless,

Stepped out of the doors-snakelike, unfathomable;

Without meeting the shivering man's eyes'

Whispered just three words; "It's a girl"

And slunk away.

The man stopped mid tracks;

As though pushed:

By an invisible hand

The old folk shook their head,

With shock, dismay and disappointment.

The open wailing of the young mother,

Filled the otherwise calm of the compartment:

"I don't know how?", "I don't know how?"

"Leave it to die.", was all the father said;

The mother's heart bled: but had no choice-

'Cause neither will her father care,

Nor will her father-in-law spare.'

But the small beautiful infant lay-

Unaware of its fate;

Whether she will be alive;

Whether she will be dumped-

In the cold frosty wind,

Destiny alone can answer!

But who's to blame?

The conservative society? The government?

Only the time can answer that!!

But to create a life:

And to destroy the same……………………………………………….

Only GOD can answer that!!!!
